What erasers do I use and recommend? (for removing pencil marks)
Faber-Castell “dust-free” eraser review.
What erasers do I use and recommend? Well it depends on the purpose. If I want to remove ordinary pencil marks, I reach for a Faber-Castell “dust-free” eraser.
I’ve tried dozens of different erasers and these just seem to work the best. They are very easy to keep clean compared to others and they don’t decompose with time.
They’re not exactly “dust free” as advertised however. Rather, the little rubber scrapings tend to stick together forming into an elongated little spiral-shaped clump that you can then dispose of easily… so they don’t create loads of mess… well, let’s just say that it’s more manageable…
Actually it probably creates more residue (by volume) than any normal eraser. But as the rubber spalls off, and it does so readily, the rubber remaining on the eraser itself remains super clean. So it’s almost like part of the eraser sacrifices itself to remain clean. Half the time you don’t even need to clean it so to speak. I would have called it a “self-cleaning” eraser. But that’s me. It’s easily my favourite eraser. My go to eraser. I have two of them.
If on the other hand I want to remove something like ink or wax pencil, I use a Tombow mono sand eraser.
