Roymac revolution quill mop brush review
I recently bought a new synthetic brush made by micador called the Roymac revolution. I was so impressed I immediately bought two more in the same size. And I’ll probably buy even more in the coming months too.
What I like most about this brush is that it is not made of sable hair or fur it is made of tapered synthetic taklon fibres. Having said that, Roymac does unfortunately also make/sell other sable brushes in their lineup, but it’s not as many as, say, da Vinci for example. I would like to see Micador/Roymac remove all sable brushes from their range of brushes and fully commit themselves to synthetic fibres.
It has a nicely painted 100% FSC certified wooden handle. But most of all I like the shape of the brush. The head of mop-shaped brush comes to a nice point. It holds a lot of pigment. It’s not too floppy. It’s more… springy. The handle is not too fat. It’s nicely made (which is saying a lot because I am a former materials scientist). Overall… it just looks right. And so that’s why I can see myself buying a few more of these soon.
